Mr. Beadle recieved his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and served at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and Ft. Gordon Georgia before being assigned as a platoon leader with F Troupe 17th ArmoredCalvary, 196th Light Infantry Brigade in Viet Nam. His distinguished combat awards include the National Defense Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, Republic of Viet Nam Defense Medal and the Bronze Star.
Upon his return from service Mr. Beadle went to work for Elk Valley Freight Lines, a company owned by his father, dispatching & supervising 28 teamster employees. When Elk Valley Freight Lines was sold in 1970 He and his brother Mickey purchased Nashville Warehousing Company and Bumpas Transfer Company. These companies were in the local delivery, distribution, warehousing & freight consolidation business. In 1971 Nashville Warehouse built a new 30,000 square foot warehouse at 1300 Elm Hill Pike where it still operates today. After successfully managing both of the companies for six years, he and his brother sold the companies.
Mr. Beadle worked in freight sales and as Nashville Terminal Manager for Cooper-Jarrett, Inc a large common carrier from 1976 thru 1979. After beginning with the company in sales he was named terminal manager with full profit and loss responsibilities for the Nashville operation. In the fall of 1979, Mr. Beadle left Cooper-Jarrett for an opportunity in sales with Parman Oil Company, a Texaco jobber in Nashville. With the end of the energy shortage a new emphasis was put on sales in the petroleum industry for the first time in a decade. After substancial increases in commercial diesel sales, he began Parman’s Lubricant Operation with bulk oil sales to truck leasing and construction companies. In 1981 he became Vice President of Parman Oil Company and oversaw the opening of the first company operated store. During his 12 year tenure as Vice President, Parman Oil grew from a $9 million per year company to a company with annual sales in excess of $50 million and over 125 employees. In 1991, Larry was one of the founders, along with Parman Oil owners, of Petro Express Inc. He was President & CEO of this company that was a hauler of gasoline, diesel fuel and petroleum produsts. Petro. From 1993 thru 1996 Mr. Beadle served as President & Owner of Natchez Trace Trailer Repair. Natchez Trace Company sepcialized in the testing & repair of MC-306 and D.O.T. 406 Petroleum Tank Trailers. Mr. Beadle sold the business but kept the real estate & went to work with Taylor-Vaughn-Greene as a commercial real estate broker in 1997. In April of 2000, T.V.G. merged with RCM Realty to form NAI Mathews Partners which is known today as NAI Nashville.
